Internet Money Making Schemes
Here are a few to consider: Which means much higher profits for you, other venues for selling sometimes have less competition! Depending on the type of products that you are interested in selling eBay may not always be the most profitable. It seems to me that the general public's perception is that the only way that you can make money online is to sell on eBay.
Tupperware party
You can use the same concept for selling anything from candles to clothing. When you invite neighbors and friend together mixed with a few cocktails you create a buying atmosphere. There is always a great atmosphere when friends and family get together. They work for the person holding it, we have all heard of Tupperware parties for a good reason.
Classified ads
You can then see if you would get any buyers. Setup a small ad with a phone number to respond to. You can even test this channel before you find the products that you would like to sell. Classified ads can get great response rates and require a low investment to start. This is often the most overlooked sales channel.
Consignment shops
This can be very hands off sales method for you to profit from selling products. Many of them have up to 40% selling fees. You may have enough profit margin to sell some of your merchandise through a consignment shop, or importing, liquidators, if you source your products for a cheap enough price by buying from wholesalers.
Local fairs and flea markets
Let your customers dictate what type of products that you sell. And then show up next time with that type of product, be sure to communicate with your customers and see what other products they would like to purchase. If you purchase right you can have a lot of fun selling in this environment. And unusual merchandise, flea market buyers are always looking for bargains. Most fair booths are cheap to purchase space for a few days and have a good audience of buyers.
Your own website
Become the expert and best source for your type of product and profit. Get into a very narrow niche' that you will enjoy working. Be sure not to sell everything under the sun and try and take on Wal-mart when you first get started. And eBay, yahoo, volusion, now you can setup a site with very little experience thru products offered by companies like Go daddy. Having your own website to promote can be a rewarding venture.
How to find products to sell
Now I just sell in my narrow niches and profit. Probably the biggest lesson I learned was to stay away from what I thought were the popular products because they were too competitive. I have been using the tool available from the North American Wholesale Co-op Association (www.nawca.org) and having a lot of success. They also will have tools to show you how competitive selling a particular type of product can be. And alternative sources for products, imports, liquidation, some of the best product sourcing companies will provide you with sources to buy wholesale. It is best to get a membership before you decide what to sell. You can get a membership to a product sourcing service to make the start of your business a breeze. Probably the hardest component to figure out when you start your part-time business is where and what to sell.
